If you require bespoke leadwork, whether for a new build property or for a conservation project at a period building, it's important to choose a craftsman that has the skills and credentials necessary to do your project justice.
Based in Melton Constable, Brian Turner is an experienced craftsman with many years' experience delivering architectural and roofing leadwork to a wide array of clients. Brian is a member of the Lead Contractors Association, Heritage Skills lead worker and CIPHE registered plumber.
Whether you have a traditional or contemporary aesthetic in mind, Brian can create a striking new lead feature to complement your property.
Work undertaken ranges from complex ornamental leadwork to roofing and heritage restoration work. Brian can also create commemorative installations (e.g. a plaque for a new build property).
Turners Ornamental Leadwork was commissioned to design and install a bespoke gutter with a lead downpipe (from a small lead roof) and a corner pipe that discharged to a roof at a lower level. The ornamental design of the sockets was designed to match the motif seen on an existing hopper on the tower. The client was very happy with the design and sympathetic detailing.
We also received a commission for an extensive window restoration project at a period property. This was particularly challenging, as the lead had to be removed and repaired. New fixing, welts and laps were created with capillary gaps where there were previously none.
Thanks to his skill, artistry and design expertise, Brian has received numerous major commissions from the National Trust and leading garden designers such as Bunny Guinness, George Carter and many others.
